Overview
Guided mangrove walk in Watamu
Most visitors see the mangrove from the outside. With us, you walk inside it. Shallow water, twisted roots, light filtering through the canopy, the whole place changes shape with the tide and the time of day. Along the way we share what we know about this ecosystem, the species that live here, how the trees breathe, why this place matters. About halfway through, we pause at a calm spot in the creek for a swim, fresh coconut or local fruit, and a moment to just be there. Before the end, you plant a mangrove seedling yourself, a small but real action that contributes to the restoration of the ecosystem you just walked through.

What it looks like
A short look at what it's really like to move through the mangrove, water, roots, changing tides and the quiet rhythm of the creek. No two walks are exactly the same. The tides, water level and wildlife change constantly throughout the day.
